2023 Conference postponed
Conference call for speakers: We’re now accepting entries for our 2023 annual conference to be held at the University of Exeter in September.
UPDATE (25th July):
Unfortunately we’ve decided to postpone the conference until Spring next year due to logistical issues with the venue. After careful deliberation, our team was not confident that we could deliver the high standards that are normally associated with our conference.
However, we are planning to put on a ‘mega meetup’ style event, which we are planning for the 28th September, running from 4pm – 8pm and including food, a handful of talks, plus social/games. Further details will go up on the website and meetup.com.
Why should I apply?
Our sell-out events would be nothing without our speakers – we are lucky to have gotten to know some amazing people, and we want you to be next!
We can put you in front of a warm and friendly audience, with highly engaged people who speak your language
Re-watch some of our past events on our Youtube page!
Some notes:
- You don’t need to have spoken at a conference before
- We welcome both technical and non-technical talk submissions
- Returning speakers are welcome
- You can submit multiple talks
- Get paid £ to speak (see below)
Am I techy enough? / I haven’t done this before …
Short answer: You are techy enough, and you can do this!
Long answer:
If you have a passion about a topic, whatever experience level, then we want to hear from you. If you haven’t done this before then we can help. We can review your slides, help with individual presentation styles and formats, and make sure you are fully prepared.
Get paid? What?!
That’s right – we value our speakers time and will pay for you to speak at this event!
Everyone receives the same flat fee (the exact amount will be determined based on ticket sales and sponsorship monies raised) – you can spend this on travel / accomodation / whatever you want!
TechExeter is a Community Interest Company run by volunteers, all monies we raise go directly into supporting our communuity. Find out more.
